Pastoral Care Committee
Pastoral care extended by and for the community of believers at Christ Church Cathedral is initiated by the action of the Holy Spirit moving within us and among us.  It is further shaped and directed by the vision portion of the Cathedral's mission statement:

To deepen our discipleship.
To invite everyone, believing in the miraculous transformation of lives in Christ.
To reach out in love, concern and care for the greater community.

As a community of faith-filled believers in Jesus, we have prayerfully discerned together that our discipleship may be deepened by placing our focus on outreach to the sick, the elderly and the homeless.  By the grace of God, we have further come to know that pastoral care that is intent upon inviting everyone and reaching out in love, concern and care for the greater community must be carried out by us as we are enabled by the Holy Spirit.

The Pastoral Care Committee has started a new ministry -- prepared meals for parishioners in need.

The meals would be delivered during visits by committee members.  Here's how you can participate in this ministry: prepare a meal that can be frozen, and freeze it; label it with your name, contents, date prepared; directions for reheating; and deliver it to the designated spot in the freezer in the kitchen on the fourth floor.

About a dozen meals will be kept on hand at a time.  Congregation members Judy Casciolini and Sharon LaRue will monitor dates of meals and keep the supply current.  If you have questions, please contact Sharon LaRue at shalaru@aol.com.  If you would like to participate but have no way to deliver your meal, we will make every effort to pick it up.   If you would like to request that a meal be delivered, contact Canon Renee Fenner.
