We are followers of Jesus Christ whose example inspires us to build creative lives based on love and inclusion.  We do this as a community of faith, as an urban parish, and as the Cathedral of the Diocese of Missouri.
Funeral for Roger Sluss Held Friday
Roger Sluss, father of Deacon Mark Sluss and beloved member of our congregation, was laid to rest Friday, Aug. 22, at 10:30 a.m.  Many joined together in remembrance of our friend.

May the souls of the righteous rest in the hands of God.
Celebrate the Cathedral on Sept. 7!
On Sunday, Sept. 7, after each of the 8, 9, 9:15 and 11:15 services, the Cathedral Life Committee invites everyone to Celebration Sunday, where you can survey volunteer and other opportunities available at the Cathedral.  As you walk by the tables hosted by various Cathedral committees and groups, consider how your talents may best be used in support of the Cathedral community.  Interested in promoting the Cathedral through advertising, media relations or web technology?  Then consider joining the Communications and Marketing Committee.  Seeking involvement in a nurturing church school experience for the young people of the Cathedral?  You’ll find the answers you need at the Children’s and Youth Christian Education table.  Whether you have been coming to the Cathedral for a few weeks or for many years, you'll discover an array of activities that fit your interests and schedule.  So check us out on Sept. 7!
All Creatures Great and Small on Oct. 5
On Sunday, Oct. 5, at 4 p.m., the Cathedral will welcome all people and their pets to “A Celebration of Creation: The Feast of St. Francis (including the Blessing of the Animals).”  The annual service, which attracts people from all over the metro area, was featured last year on KSDK and CNN.  This year, we are aiming for an even greater turnout—but we need the help of parishioners and other friends of the Cathedral, in one or more of the following ways:  Could you join our ad hoc committee?  Suggest animal organizations we should contact about this event?  Post or hand out flyers at your local stores, cafés, community centers and veterinary offices? Bring finger foods for the reception following the service?  If so, please contact Renée Hirshfield at Communications.  If you cannot help in any of these ways, then mark the date and time on your calendars and plan to attend this very special and engaging service—even if you don’t have a pet. Be sure to invite your pet-loving friends and family as well!
Take a Seat by Donating a New Chair!
Thanks to the warm generosity of many members and friends of Christ Church Cathedral, about half our old chairs have been replaced with new, more comfortable chairs and kneelers.  Whether you worship at the Cathedral or occasionally enjoy concerts and other events in our sacred historic space, we invite you to help us purchase the remaining chairs.  Click on the link at the end of this paragraph to learn more and to find out how to pledge the cost of one or more new chairs.  And to those who have pledged so far, please accept our gratitude and thanks.
